Clinical Analysis of Cervical Esophagogastrostomy after Resection of Esophageal Cancer among 359 Cases

Objective To approach advantages of cervical esophagogastrostomy after resection of esophageal cancer. Methods Resection of esophageal cancer and cervical esophagogastrostomy with stomach as an esophageal substitute was performed in 359 patients with cancer of thoracic esophagus. The effect was clinially observed. Results 356 cases were cured (99.2%),3 cases(0.8%)were dead after operation, The postoperative complications occured in 20 cases(5.6%) . Conclusions This technique offers the advantages of resecting the lession radically, higher curative rate, and less incidence of post-operative complications and deaths.
