The impact of acute aerobic exercise on microRNAs associated with cardiovascular health: a pilot study

2019
INTRODUCTION: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are non-coding RNAsthat have an important role in regulating geneexpression. Although circulating miRNAs are considered good markers of response to acute aerobic exercise(1) change in expression according to workload has yet to be investigated. The aim of this study was therefore to determine the impact of maximal vs. sub-maximal intensity aerobic exerciseon plasma concentrations of circulating miRNAs associated with inflammation, vascular adaptation and cardio-protection (miRNA 146a, miRNA 222, miRNA 21) (2).
