A method for fabricating an electronic device comprises the steps of providing a surface having a first region and a region adjacent to the first region second region for arranging a sacrificial layer over the first region of the surface for disposing a passivation layer over the sacrificial layer and the second region of surface, for creating an opening in the passivation layer over the first region of the surface and removing the sacrificial layer.
