Intraoperative ultrasound has become increasingly widely used in open or laparoscopic abdominal surgery, giving details lesion topography and loco-regional extension, relations with neighboring structures and complete staging of the disease. Intraoperative ultrasound is commonly used in hepatobiliary-pancreatic tract surgery, bringing diagnostic and therapeutic benefits. Intraoperative ultrasound proves an easy way, fast, exploring real-time hepatobiliary-pancreatic lesions throughout the surgical act, allowing modulation of therapeutic decisions and prevent complications.
