Cataloging of space objects is performed in the space control system. Destruction of space objects in orbit is established as a result of the discovery of new objects from measurements that have not been identified. Solving the problem can take from several hours to several days. The goal of the work is to increase the efficiency of detecting the fact of destruction by controlling the parameters of the law of distribution of the effective scattering surface of the hourly flow of space objects observed by special‑purpose radars. The paper considers the possibility of using non‑coordinate information obtained when observing space objects, whose trajectories pass through the visibility zone of a special‑purpose radar station at a selected time interval to detect the fact of destruction of space objects in near‑Earth space. To solve the problem, it is proposed to compare the average values of the effective scattering surface of the observed objects flow in adjacent time intervals of observation. The results of statistical material processing showed that the proposed method allows to increase the efficiency of detecting the fact of destruction of space objects in orbit by several times with the specified output reliability γ = 0.99.
