Sound absorption of organic hybrid comprised : Effect of sample vibration

2007
We investigated the relationship between the state of sample vibration and sound absorption phenomena of organic hybrid comprised of chlorinated polyethylene, CPE, and N,N'-dicyclohexyl-2-benzothiazolyl sulfenamide, DBS. After annealing, CPE/DBS blend showed new specific sound absorption around 350 Hz. Samples in an impedance tube generated large amplitude caused by the natural and forced vibration. Sound absorption was occurred by the natural vibration, not the forced vibration. Moreover, amplitude and frequency of natural vibration has a close relation with performance and frequency ofthe sound absorption respectively.
