Viewing Systems in Vitreoretinal Surgery
2020
Recently, micro-incision vitrectomy surgery (MIVS) has become widespread, and wide-viewing system is commonly used in vitrectomy surgery. Wide-viewing system provides us faster, easier, and wider field compared with conventional contact direct lens system. The noncontact wide-angle lens is currently the most widely used viewing system for vitrectomy surgery. This system has some complicated manipulation and may be difficult for a beginner vitreous surgeon. New devices, intraoperative OCT and head-up surgery will become more widely adopted as they become more developed and less expensive in the future.
