Complications of Coronary Intervention: Coronary Wall Dissection and Perforation

2018
Coronary dissection and perforation are the most common and most feared complications during coronary interventions, both of which can lead to catastrophic consequences if not recognized early and managed properly. However, despite their high associated morbidities and mortalities, these complications can be appropriately managed and effectively prevented if their etiologies, risks factors, and treatments are thoroughly understood and practiced. This chapter discusses these two important complications, with special emphasis on approaches to their management.
