Phased Array Directivity Control Based on Equidistance Projection Time Series in Microwave Power Transfer for Mobile Monitoring
2019
We devised an image-processing directivity control scheme based on an equidistance projection time series for a planar antenna array to practically implement the transfer of microwave power. This scheme is applied to mobile monitoring systems incorporated with batteryless wireless sensors to efficiently monitor social infrastructures. A planar antenna array with a fisheye lens camera embedded in its center is able to search for a target rectenna and then transmit power to it. An elevation-direction beam-steering scheme is also derived for a planar antenna array on which vertical elements are fed in-phase. The simulation results showed that our proposed scheme provides sufficient cumulative amounts of received electric power to feed tens of relevant sensors in fast driving scenarios.
