The abundance of weedswas monitored on several permanent plots on an organically managed farm in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Variation in weedabundance was observed between plots. Neither general increase, nor general decrease in weedabundance could be identified. Most of the annual variations within the data could be explained by annual variation in precipitation. A more intensive view was on the abundance of Cirsium arvenseand Galiumaparine agg., two problematic weedspecies. While the known problems arising from the appearance of C. arvense could not be reflected in the used data, the data revealed possible problems through the partly high abundances of G. aparine agg
