Loggings and industrialization of Alnus acuminata Kuntz trees from fast-growth plantation in Costa Rica. Alnus acuminata Kuntz is widely used in Costa Rica in agroforestry systems and plantation. Information about logging and behavior during sawmilling processes is limited for trees from fast-grown plantations. Samples of 8-yearsold plantation trees from the Irazu volcano in Costa Rica were obtained, with the objective to show the qualitative and quantitative characteristics related to logging and industrialization for A. acuminata trees. Problems related to tool dulling, as well as trunk falling direction were not found during logging.
