Abstract : The incomplete
Cholesky decompositionand the subsequent iterative solution by the
conjugate gradient methodhas been described recently by D. Kershaw. The drawback of a
triangular decompositionon a vector machine is the need for
recursivecomputations. This paper proposes a method which eliminates the need for
recursivecomputations. They are replaced by a number of non-
recursiveoperations. This method can be utilized in the solution of potential equations in late time electrostatic codes. (Author)
