PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid cartridge capable of enhancing a degree of freedom of arrangement of a member for exhibiting functions.SOLUTION: An ink cartridge 30 comprises: a front surface 140 facing forward in an attached state; a rear surface 41 separated rearward from the front surface 140; an upper surface 141 located between the front surface 140 and the rear surface 41, and facing upward; lower surfaces 42, 142 located between the front surface 140 and the rear surface 41, located downward separately from the upper surface 141, and facing downward; an ink supply part 34 located at the front surface 140, and supplying an ink stored in the ink cartridge 30 to the outside; an IC substrate 64 located at the upper surface 141; a residual quantity detection part 58 having a light shielding plate 66 to which light can be emitted from the outside, disposed above the upper surface 141, and changing a state of the light according to a state of the ink cartridge 30; and an engaging part 130 protruding downward from the lower surface 142.
