Effect of Corrosion on Trap Characteristics of Epoxy/Al2O3 Nanocomposite Irradiated with Gamma-Ray

2020
Effect of corrosion on trap characteristics of epoxy (EP) based nanocomposite irradiated with gamma-ray has been investigated in this paper. The 2 mm-thick EP/Al 2 O 3 with 3 wt% of nano Al 2 O 3 filler was irradiated at room temperature by using a Cobalt-60 gamma-source with average dose rate of 10-130 Gy/min, and the total accumulated dose was up to 1000 kGy. Then these samples were immersed in boric acid solution with pH value of 4.2 and trisodium phosphate alkaline solution with pH value of 11 at $60^{\circ}\mathrm{C}$ and $100^{\circ}\mathrm{C}$ respectively for 48 hours. The trap characteristics of samples were obtained through the isothermal surface potential decay (ISPD) method, by which carrier mobility could be also estimated. Ultraviolet-visible (UVVis) spectroscopy has been measured to better understand the corrosion mechanism of samples in the solutions. Obtained results indicated that the corrosion may induce variation in structures of the sample irradiated by gamma-ray, which is responsible for the temperature dependent charge transportation manner.
