Asociación entre la micro albuminuria y enfermedad arterial periférica en pacientes diabéticos

2011
INTRODUCTION. The microalbuminuria(MAB), it constitutes a cardiovascular, cerebrovascular and other factor of illness risk, in diabetic patients and non diabetics. OBJECTIVE. To evaluate the existent association between the outlying arterial illness and the microalbuminurialike marker of independent risk of this, in diabetic patients. METHODS. We were carried out a longitudinal prospective descriptive study with a sample of 609 patients, in which were kept in mind: the concentrations of MAB, creatinine, cholesterol, triglycerides, seric glucose, glycosilated hemoglobin, the results of homodynamic tests and carotid Doppler, as well as bio-demographic variables, with which were carried out statistical analysis of frequencies and multivariate of principal components with the purpose of establishing the interactive relationships among the same, previous informed consent of the patients. RESULTS. In our study diabetic patients were evaluated with half age among 58-60 years, the women prevailed, the individuals with smoke habits and overweight-obese, and the predominant race was the white. Around 84.3% of the patients had homodynamic alterations with pathological MAB, while this last one was also observed in 54.8% of the total with pathological carotid Doppler. The analyses of principal components reflected a relationship between the concentrations of pathological MAB and high ranges values of the serum biochemistry, the homodynamic, the Doppler carotideo and acute myocardial infarction too. CONCLUSION. We consider that the MAB is a marker predictor of outlying arterial illness in diabetic patients.
