ABSTRACTIntroduction. Toxoplasmosisis a life-threatening parasitic diseasefor hematopoietic stem cell transplant(HSCT) and solid organ transplant(SOT) recipients. The risk of toxoplasmosisin transplantpatients mainly depends on the degree of immunosuppression, the tropismof Toxoplasma gondiifor the grafted tissue, and the seroprevalencein the general population. Although transplantrecipients with toxoplasmosishave a high mortality rate, there are neither well-defined recommendations nor a consensus for the management of this disease in these patients.Areas covered. This review focuses on the management of toxoplasmosisin transplantrecipients and discusses the various strategies for diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and follow-up in clinical practice.
