Lewis Acid-Catalyzed Regioselective Synthesis of Chiral α-Fluoroalkyl Amines via Asymmetric Addition of Silyl Dienolates to Fluorinated Sulfinylimines.

The asymmetric addition of silyl dienolates (II) to sulfinylimines (I) in the presence of catalytic amounts of AgBF4 leads to the α-adducts (III) as major products, whilst the use of Tms-O-Tf as catalyst affords predominantly the γ-adducts (IV).
