FEATURES OF ORGANIZATION OF MEASURING - DESIGN PRACTICE FOR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS IN DUBNO

2019
The article describes the scientific and methodological results of the fifth year of cooperation between the Department of architecture fundamentals and architectural design of KNUCA with the State historical and cultural conservation area in Dubno in 2019 regarding  students` and teachers` work for the improvement and regeneration of the Dubno historical environment. Problem statement: modern architectural education requires a variety of experimental implementations for the training of specialists, also it is important to develop a methodology for teaching students how to work inside historical zones. Objective of the article: substantiate the organization of the measuring and design practice for first-year students on the architectural-historical territory with the inclusion of design tasks for landscape improvement around the objects of research. The first-year students solved real problems of landscaping and design in different areas of the conservation zone. Initially, they made measured drawings of specified sites. The results of this work will be useful for the further development of the territory. And then students completed the improvement projects based on previous measurements and learned to present and defend their proposals at a specially arranged event, demonstrating the results of the entire practice. During their stay in Dubno, students get acquainted with the surrounding architectural and historical zones: city of Kremenets, Pochayiv Lavra, Fort of Tarakaniv. The measuring and design practice requires to do manually artistic images, technical drawings and project sketches using various graphic materials at a high level of quality in the conditions of study location. A methodological basis for qualitative practices for students of architectural faculties of Ukraine is the proximity to the real historical environment and the benefit for further using the results of students' work.
