Development of a Degassing Plant for a Promising Melting Reactor for Basalt

2022
The paper discusses the possibility of reducing heat losses in the production of basalt composite materials, in particular continuous basalt fibers (CBF). Reducing heat losses is achieved by reducing the duration of degassing of the basalt melt. To achieve this result, a set of measures is used, the main one of which is a decrease in pressure above the surface of an unclarified melt, which leads to a more intensive release of gases from the melt layer and its degassing. As part of research work on the topic, a degassing plant is being developed, which should become part of a promising basalt melting reactor for the production of CBF. Basalt melt has a high dynamic viscosity, at the moment an experimental setup for modeling viscous liquid degassing processes has been created at the Department of Computer Science of the National Research University “MPEI”. The high efficiency of the proposed model is confirmed by the methods of mathematical and physical modeling. The paper presents the results of solving the problem of optimizing the technical parameters of the degassing plant to achieve the highest process efficiency and preserve the thermal energy of the melt. The optimal dimensions of the installation and the discharge in the degassing chamber were selected for the initial parameters of the melt and a given production volume.
