A systematic review on antibiotic use in humans in Nigeria

2018
Introduction : Nigeria has the third highest percentage of antibioticprescriptions at 48%, out of 12 African countries. However, this increasing trend in antibioticconsumption is contributory to antibiotic misuse, which is a key driver of the rising antimicrobial resistance (AMR) rates. The objectives of this systematic review are to describe the quantitative indicators of irrational antibioticuse and identify factors influencing use of antibiotics.
