A Tool for Monitoring of the Land Surface Temperature over Romania Regionusing LST LSA-SAF Product

Satellite information is the only source for the mapping and monitoring of LST at small-scale. The processing of LST LSA-SAF data received at NMA is discussed in this paper. An IDL application was developed to facilitate the processing of the LST data in operationally mode for Romania region. In this paper, we show the ability of MSG satellite to determine and monitoring the land surface temperature. These processed LST data addresses a much broader community, which includes users from weather forecasting and climate modeling, environmental management and land use, agricultural and climatological applications.
