EnglishThe article presents the outcomes based on an archaeological intervention performed in the ancient building of Posito de los Panaderos, the baker’s public granary, located in the city of Lorca. This intervention was carried out on the occasion of its restoration after the earthquakes occurred in May 2011. The building was built in the sixteenth century. There is documented evidence of archaeological remains from a Medieval Muslim tower which were masked inside. The building suffered a relevant reform in the eighteenth century and it remained in use until the twentieth century, when it started to lose its role as a Municipal granaryand began to be used as a Health Care Centre and subsequently it was used as a Municipal Archive.
