Deeply understanding particle flux rollover with argon impurity injection and pumping effects in HL-2A by SOLPS

Abstract The physical reason and picture of particle flux rollover (PFR) are investigated by using SOLPS with the effects of argon impurity and pumping in this paper. This modeling work uncovers the root/direct reason for PFR is the radiation power loss from impurity and recycling particles (D and D2). The recombination particle loss is the indirect reason for PFR. Besides, the radiation power loss also could play a key role in inducing momentum loss. This work could unify the four factors (recombination particle loss, impurity radiation power loss, power loss, momentum loss) from P. C. Stangeby and Krasheninnikov.
