On the Distribution of the Difference of Two SR RV's and it's Application in Satellite Communication

2021
In this paper, we investigate the distribution of the difference of two Shadowed Rician (SR) Random variables (RVs). The SR RVs are surmised to be independent and identically distributed and the phase associated with the RVs are assumed to have uniform distribution. With these assumptions, we derive the articulations of probability density function, and cumulative distribution function (c.d.f.) in terms of gamma and incomplete gamma functions. It is shown in literature that the difference distribution is used in the analysis of space shift keying (SSK) based communication systems. We apply the concept of space shift keying in satellite communication systems and discuss the outage probability of SSK based systems by using the derived result of c.d.f.
