Status of ESA's Earthcare Mission Preparation

EarthCARE, the Earth Cloud Aerosol and Radiation Explorer, is the third Earth Explorer Core Mission of the European Space Agency's Earth Observation Envelope Programme. These are defined as major missions led by ESA to cover primary research objectives set out in the Living Planet Program. EarthCARE is being developed in cooperation with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), which is providing the Cloud Profiling Radar.
