Simulation of propagation, absorption and current drive efficiency of lower hybrid waves in reactor relevant JET discharges

2008
A degree of control of the current density profile in JET will be achieved by launching a high directivity narrow spectrum of Lower Hybrid waves at 3.7 GHz. In the preparation of this experiment attention has been focused on the evaluation of wave absorption and current drive efficiency to be expected in present high performance JET scenarios or reactor relevant scenarios. The highest slow wave absorption and current drive efficiency are expected in high temperature plasmas with peaked density profiles.
