Percutaneous Nucleotomy of the Lumbar Disk: Method and Preliminary Results

1989
Percutaneous nucleotomy is a new method for decompressing herniated lumbar disks and can be considered a new device in interventional radiology. It is an alternative to traditional laminectomy in selec- ted cases and is less invasive [3,4,5]. It is based on concepts of percutaneous diskectomy, presented as an alternative to traditional laminectomy [2] and to chemonucleolysis [1].
