Asymptotic Direction of Arrival of Charged Particles in the Earth's Magnetic Field

The motion of charged particlesin the earth's magnetic fieldhas been investigated. Attention has been given to the motion in the equatorial plane. It is shown how, from the knowledge of the angleof arrival, particle species and energy, for a value of the impact parameter, the asymptotic directionof arrivalcan be calculated in closed form. The results of calculations are shown in Figure 4.
