Structural microstructural and humidity sensing performance of Mn0.5Zn0.5Cr2O4 nanoparticles

The Mn0.5Zn0.5Cr2O4 nanoparticles were synthesized by modified solution combustion technique using as a mixture of fuels urea and glucose. The XRD pattern confirms the crystalline nature of single phase spinel cubic structure having space group Fd-3m. Further average crystallite size is found to be 8 nm. SEM micrographs confirms the microstructural property of the samples and EDX analysis confirms the chemical analysis of the sample. Stretching vibrations at tetrahedral and octahedral site were estimated. Force constant value also estimated from FTIR spectra. Humidity Sensing responses increases with increase in relative humidity for prepared sample. Hence our results suggest that synthesized samples are useful for sensor applications.
