Tularemia, a zoonosiscaused by Francisella tularensis, can be transmitted from wild animals or rodents to humans. The clinical presentation may vary depending on the subspeciestype of F. tularensis and their inherent associated virulence, the portal of entry and the immune status of the host.. Six clinical forms are described: ulceroglandular, glandular, oculoglandular, oropharyngeal, typhoidal and pneumonic.
