Ultrasensitive analysis of microRNAs with gold nanoparticle-decorated molybdenum disulfide nanohybrid-based multilayer nanoprobes.

Nanoprobes-based signal amplification strategy is a powerful way to ultrasensitively detect biomolecules. Herein, a gold nanoparticles-decorated molybdenum disulfide (MoS2-AuNPs)-based multilayer nanoprobe (MLNPs) was designed for ultrasensitive analysis of microRNA (miRNA-21). The MLNPs-amplified electrochemical biosensor exhibited ultrawide dynamic range (10 aM-1 μM) and ultralow detection limit (38 aM) for target miRNA-21 analysis. Furthermore, this biosensor can determine miRNA-21 expression in cells lysate of 100 human cervical cancer (HeLa) cells. Our results demonstrate that MoS2-AuNPs nanocomposites have great potential in constructing biosensors for target molecules analysis.
