2008
We desribe a patient with pathologicalsnoring caused by bilateral mandibular torus.A 35-year-old woman was referred to our hospital for treatment of mandibular torus. She had had pathologicalsnoring and daytimesleepiness since she was in junior high school. Pathologicalsnoring persisted even after uvulopalatopharyngoplasty, performed when she was 34 years old. The patient had also received orthodontic treatment to correct tooth alignment and was introduced to our hospital for removal of the bilateral mandibular torus. Immediately after surgery, pathologicalsnoring and daytimesleepiness improved. As of 9 years after the surgery, there has been no recurrence of pathologicalsnoring.
