Microsurgical Approach to Bilateral Carotid Artery Occlusion

Bilateral carotid artery occlusions occur not as rarely as was assumed in the past. In 200 patients suffering from occlusion of the carotid artery and treated by extra-intracranial microanastomosis1, a 10% incidence of bilateral occlusions was observed.
