Family Meetings as a System Reform to Address Racial Disproportionality and Disparities

The chapter provides: (1) an overview of family meetings, including the origins of family meeting practice in child welfare; (2) a theoretical framework on how family meetings can impact racial disparities and disproportionality in child welfare systems; (3) an exploration of how family meetings can fit within a larger system reform context; and (4) a review of the current evidence regarding the impact of family meetings on disproportionality and disparities.
