Finite element analysis of the forces on the roller of a medium-sized crawler excavator

When a medium-sized crawler excavator works on a hard and concave road surface, a small number of rollers are stressed. Due to low working speed, Static analysis is still necessary. First of all, a three-point support model is established and the offset range of center-of-gravity is determined. The bearing capacity of the roller is analyzed in horizontal state and 10° inclined state. The forces on the three supporting rollers are calculated during rotation of the shovel arm at 30° intervals. Then, the three-dimensional mechanical model of the roller is established by ANSYS software. The stress and strain of two working states are simulated. The scheme of optimizing mass block design is put forward. The calculation results can also provide reference and basis for strength analysis and stability analysis of crawler excavator chassis.
