Basal Cell Adenocarcinoma of the Parotid Gland

The term basal cell adenomawas used by Kleinsasser and Klien1 in 1967 to describe benign salivary gland tumorscomprised of a single type of epithelium. Basal cell adenocarcinoma is a relatively new entity, and there are only a few cases reported in the literature. It has a morphology like that of a basal cell adenomabut has growth characteristics of a malignant neoplasm.
