An Estrogen Induced Protease in Breast Cancer: From Basic Research to Clinical Applications

In the cascade of events following the interaction of estrogens with their
nuclear receptorsin breast cancer cells, some of them are involved in the hormonal stimulation of
cell growth. Their identification may improve both our understanding of the mechanism by which tumor growth is controlled and the monitoring and treatment of breast cancer.
