2013
Aim of the work:The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency/insufficiency in
psoriatic arthritispatients. Methodology:This study was carried out on thirty
psoriatic arthritispatients(21female,9male) ,Serum vitamin D by ELISA and Plain x-ray on both hands ,lumbosacral spine and
sacroiliac joints. Results:In thirty psoaritic arthritis patients, we found 18 patients (60%) have deficiency in vitamin D level, 6 patients (20%) have insufficiency in vitamin D level and 6 patients (20%) have normal vitamin D level. 10% of selected patients have pitting of nails , 6.7% have oncholysis and 3.3% have
Hyperkeratosis,20 of patients (66.7%) have elevated ESR (>20 mm/h),18Patients (60.0%) were CRP negative.26.7% of selected patients have
hyperuricemia(>6mg/dl in male 5.5 mg/dl in female). In X-Ray hand, we found 40% of selected patients have
joint space narrowing, 30% have sclerosis , 23.3% erosion and 13.3% of our patients have

Ankylosisof joint .40% of selected patients have
syndesmophytesin In X-Ray lumbosacral spine . Conclusion:Vitamin D deficiency/insufficiency is common among
