Growth, dielectric, thermal and Z-scan studies of isatin admixtured 4-methyl benzene sulfonamide crystal
2018
Bulk crystal of isatin admixtured 4-MBS was grown by doping 4-Methyl benzene sulfonamide (4-MBS) with isatin using slow evaporation solution growth method. Single XRD analysis showed that monoclinic system with space group P21/b. The UV cutoff wavelength 500nm and band gap of 4.62eV were identified by UV-vis-NIR study. TGA/DSC and dielectric studies showed the thermal stability and dielectric behaviour respectively. Z-scan technique established the third order nonlinear optical behaviour and revealed that the crystal is capable of exhibit exhibiting reverse saturation absorption (RSA) and self-defocussing effect and used in optical limiting applications.
