Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

This chapter reviews the applications of noninvasive neuromodulation repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in psychological and behavioral disorders associated with obesity. Specifically, the topics that are addressed here are the basic theoretical information useful to approach rTMS as a tool that can modify the activity of central nervous system for therapeutic purpose; the recommendations for safe use of rTMS devices; the guidelines to orientate among the different protocols of treatment in obese patients; and the perspective of research in this field.
