Axin negatively regulates Wnt signalling by promoting degradation of β-catenin. Poly(
ADP)-
ribosylationof axin induces its degradation to relieve this inhibition. The
ubiquitin ligaseRNF146 is now shown to recognize and ubiquitylate PARsylated
axin2.
