Venous Thromboembolism Manifesting as Sciatica in Two Pregnant Women.

2020
Abstract Background Low back pain is a common presentation among pregnant women. Case This case report highlights two women who developed excessive low back radicular nerve symptoms during pregnancy as the initial presentation of proximal venous thromboembolism. Conclusion The use of Doppler ultrasound imaging or magnetic resonance imaging is suggested for women presenting with severe clinical symptoms of radicular low back or leg pain in pregnancy to rule out thromboembolism and guide patient management.
