La escuela un espacio para la convivencia democrática

espanolEn este breve articulo narramos como se construye a diario la democracia en nuestro colegio desde el respeto, la participacion y la convivencia. Desde el respeto, porque si deseamos que los ninos y las ninasnos respeten, debemos empezar por respetarles a ellos y a ellas. Desde la participacion porque ellos y ellas definen por consenso las normas de convivencia, tanto en el patio, en la clase, biblioteca, huerto, jardines o cualquier otro espacio del colegio. Y en este construir la democracia dia a dia, basada en la confianza mutua, nuestro alumnado sabe que va al colegio a aprender a pensar y aprender a convivir, porque educar tambien es convivir EnglishThis short article narrates how democracy is built day-to-day in our school based on respect, participation and coexistence. Democracy is based on respect because if we want children to respect us, we must start by respecting them; it is based on participation because they define the rules of coexistence in the schoolyard, the class, the library, the vegetable patch, the gardens or any other space of the school by agreement; and, finally, it is based on coexistence because, in this daily construction of democracy—in turn based on mutual trust— our students know that they go to school to learn how to think and live together, because educating is also living together.
