Avifauna apreendida no extremo sul catarinense: apreensões feitas durante oito anos de fiscalização e combate à captura de aves silvestres

The capture of wild birds creates inordinate threat too many species, occurring mainly on account of its beauty, singing and diversity. Considering the damage that hunting predatory cause the Brazilian wildlife, there are litle information on the subject, making it difficult to assess the real extent of the problem and its impact in Brazil. With the objective of analyze the data obtained from apprehension activities and gathering of wild birds for the 10o Military Police Battalion of Environmental Protection Maracaja, between the years 2004 and 2011. During this period, 1360 birds were seized, being 54 species in 21 families and 9 orders. Most of the individuals in the order Passeriformes (91.8%), family Emberizidae (45.1%) and the Sporophila generum (28.4%), the birds followed the Thraupidae family (32.3%) and of the Saltator generum (25,1%.). This predominance is also observed both at the state and national level, which demonstrates the preference for specimens of these taxa. The species Sporophila caerulescens (n=386) and Saltator similis (n=342) accounted for 53.53% of the total of specimens seized. The biggest apprehensions had occurred in the cities of Criciuma (n=351), Ararangua (n=153) and Sideropolis (n=92). The presence of species as Gubernatrix cristata, Ara ararauna, Aratinga aurea, Saltatricula atricollis, suggests in coming of birds of other states and regions. It has been registered three endangered species: Gubernatrix cristata, Procnias nudicollis and Tinamus solitarius, and six endemic species to the Atlantic Forest biome.
