GIS DATA MODELING OF 17 TH CENTURY FORTRESSES ON DARDANELLES

This study intends to promote the focus on data models and their concepts in order to provide a non-redundant maintenance and cooperative utilization of geographic data by different applications developed within the interdisciplinary project. Furthermore, this paper proposes a data model “GeoHistoryReprository” for efficient GIS data maintenance and management. It makes use of a spatiotemporal data model for describing various types of dynamic changes of Geographic Information System (GIS) data, manipulating data in multidimensional space including time.
