Half-full or Half-empty? Perspectives on Biodiversity Conservation in Singapore
| Abstract
Singapore is well-recognized as a green city despite its high built and population densities. Among its key greening objectives as it continues to develop is to be not just a green, but also a biodiverse city. This entails putting in place, strategies, policies and programs that protect existing biodiversity in biodiversity rich sites, as well as enhance biodiversity in urbanized areas across different spatial scales. In this presentation, the speaker will share on the context for enhancing biodiversity in Singapore, current policies and programs, and insights from the efforts in Singapore that may be also relevant to other cities.
