In the crisp embrace of autumn, the University of Michigan – Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute (UM-SJTU JI, JI hereafter) held an unforgettable Welcome Party for the new students enrolled in 2024 at Long Bin Building, marking a significant milestone for their academic journey on the SJTU campus.

On September 22, the rooftop of Long Bin Building was adorned with dazzling decorations, creating a warm and vibrant atmosphere. As night fell, the event commenced with an enthusiastic opening speech from the host, setting the stage for a night filled with love and joy.

Students took center stage, presenting a diverse array of performances that showcased their talents. From energetic dance routines to melodious singing, each act received enthusiastic applause and cheers, igniting a sense of community among attendees. The evening extended beyond performances, incorporating interactive games designed to foster connections between new and returning students. Participants engaged in lively discussions about their academic pursuits and personal experiences, creating an environment where friendships blossomed naturally.
