On the afternoon of December 12th, Mr. Ansheng ZHANG, Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University(SJTU), met with Mr. Paulo Rodrigues, Assistant Vice Provost of University of Southern California(USC) Global Affairs, and Ms Wenting WU, Director of USC Shanghai Office, who were visiting ICCI in Zizhu International Education Park. ICCI Dean Weimin ZHANG and Vice Dean Feng ZHAO attended the meeting as well.

Ansheng ZHANG extended a warm welcome to Paulo Rodrigues for his visit. He said, SJTU valued the cooperation with USC very much and hoped that we two universities could further expand our collaboration channels building on our existing cooperation in ICCI to gather more resources for the prosperity of education in cultural and creative industry.

In the meeting, Feng ZHAO introduced the progress and achievements of ICCI since its foundation in terms of recruitment and talent cultivation, faculty development, scientific research and industry-institute cooperation, etc. Two parties discussed and exchanged opinions regarding developmental challenges and opportunities in cultural and creative industry, the cultivation mode for cultural and creative talents and its innovation method. Paulo Rodrigues said that the talents’ joint cultivation mode in ICCI was very impressive with its distinct characteristics and benefits. He was more than willing to become a messenger between two universities, bringing what he had experienced in ICCI to the students and faculty of USC to facilitate collaborations in mutual communication, culture exchange and resource sharing. He expressed a good wish to ICCI for its better development and flourishment.

Besides, Paulo Rodrigues also visited ICCI’s integrated teaching classrooms, 4D Film Art and Technology Lab, SJTU-GDI VR Creative Education Innovation Center, etc.  Paulo Rodrigues highly praised ICCI’s multi-media teaching facilities and internationalized learning atmosphere.
