On April 29, 2019, at Zizhu Teaching and Research Base of ICCI , Weimin ZHANG, Dean of ICCI, Jinzhang JIANG, Vice Dean and Feng ZHAO, also Vice Dean of ICCI received a visit from Josai University delegation group led by Kitamura, Director of Human Resources Department of Josai University. Yuping CAI, deputy director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of Shanghai Jiaotong University and deputy director of the Japan Research Center accompanied the visit to ICCI.

In the following talks, Weimin ZHANG introduced the development process and branding activities of ICCI, and detailed on its "Internationalization, Interdisciplinary, Industry-orientation" talent-cultivation model. Kitamura also gave a brief introduction regarding Josai University. Subsequently, the two sides also exchanged views on the interdisciplinary construction, creative talent training, student exchanges, teacher exchange visits, and other cultural related activities. Both parties agreed on the necessity of conducting mutual visits to promote learning and cooperation and to achieve win-win outcomes.

Before the meeting, Feng ZHAO and Jinzhang JIANG accompanied the delegation member to visit the Zizhu Teaching and Research Base of ICCI. The delegation visited in sequence the public space for teaching and extracurricular activities with international characteristics, the modern teaching facilities of software and hardware, and the various laboratories for helping ICCI realize the interdisciplinary construction and the integration of production and teaching.

Josai University, located in Sakawa City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan, is a private university whose predecessor is Josai Practical School founded in 1918. It includes Josai short-term school. Josai University strives to improve students’ social adaptability and attaches importance to various national and social examinations. Josai University is also one of the earliest Japanese universities to carry out international exchanges and cooperation with domestic universities. It currently maintains a cooperative relationship with Shanghai Jiao Tong University. On April 24, 2019, the office of the Japan Research Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was established in Tokyo, for which, Josai University sponsored spaces, conference rooms and classrooms in the golden area of the capital center of Japan, serving as a landmark of the significant friendship between universities. The close ties and exchanges between Josai University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University are of special significance and further contributes the interaction and exchanges between Chinese and Japanese higher education institutions.
