Masters of Cinema classes are taught by leading industry professionals and scholars during “6 week sessions”. Masters of Cinema is a program in film production skills while working in a three-person crew. The program will provide experiences in developing skills in the six disciplines: film producing, directing, cinematography, production design, editing, and sound — including sound editing, and sound design.
Above all else, Masters of Cinema is a hands-on program in communication and collaboration with International and local prestigious Cinematic Arts and Technology institution including USC-SJTU Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry (ICCI), Kanbar Institute of Film and TV Tisch School of the Arts, New York University, Shanghai Music Conservatory, Shanghai Theater Academy.

About the ICCI Masters of Cinema Script lab
A three-week screenwriting workshop designed to guide and assist directors and scriptwriters through the essential preparatory work that precedes the writing of a feature length screenplay or TV pilot.
Directors and scriptwriters will be required to develop a memorable concept for an original or adapted work. They will also be expected to undertake research in order to strengthen the concept, characters and story.
The main focus of the workshop is on the development of a successful beat-sheet. In the process, students will exercise their critical and creative skills by providing feedback on the various works in progress.
At the end of the course all writers will have completed, to a professional standard, a beat-sheet for a feature length screenplay or TV pilot.
The three-week workshop will provide an in-depth study of Elements of Story and classic Three Act Structure. Students will be expected to develop their projects, conduct research and to write in their own time in preparation for a series of deadlines when they present their work for constructive feedback in class.
Lectures, readings, screenings and exercises will be devoted to the process of character development, the principles of storytelling and the art of the pitch.
